Marbling

This is the piece that came to me in NYC mentioned in my artist's statement.  I copied my marbled papers on 2 sides, cut them into strips and twisted them around acrylic rods so the marbling on the back side of the paper would show.  I wrapped every other rod in the opposing direction so when put together, they would make a herringbone pattern.  When finished, I glued them into an acrylic frame.  This piece was the only 3 D work at the International Marbler's Gathering in Istanbul, Turkey in June, 1997. 15" x 26"

I marbled the back half of 2" acrylic rods and mounted them on a heavy acrylic armature. The convex angle gives the piece a real kinetic effect so as you walk by the rods,  the colors move with you. The piece is in 4 parts and each one weighs 35 lbs.  I prefer they be hung together as one piece.  However, they can be separated and shown as 4 distinct sections. 37" x 64"
